Is an extended warranty worth it ?

Most likely your extended warranty is not going to be used for this repair. On 2008 the warranty is 36,000 miles basic coverage and the drive train is 60,000 miles so it is covered under the standard warranty. I'm a Dave Ramsey fan and he say never buy an extended warranty. I have purchased them before and have never used one yet. When the dealership sells you one they make around 50% profit on them and any seal coat or any thing extra they can sell you. They also make money if you finance it for you. So for me they are a total rip off. I now ask them if they don't have any faith in their product.
