I got my license in 1998, and gas was $0.97/gal. I remember spending $50 in gas one weekend cruising with my Dad's '68 Camaro, paying $1.04.9 for premium... did a lot of cruising, won some street races, met some girls, and got a speeding ticket. One of the most memorable weekends of my life.

I thought you were older than me for some reason, I got mine in 1995. Because I live near a tourist area, I remember paying $1.349 - $1.399 for premium back then. I used to put the timing back to the factory 10* in my 5 liter mustang during the week so I could run 89 mid grade for about $0.10 - $0.14 less per gallon. Then go fill up with 93 and yank the timing up to 15* on Friday night. Laughable, but it did make an almost .2 difference in ET from that small change.
