Block casting will give you the series of engine. The T0320LD gives you the date of manufacture, where it was built and the LD suffix tells you what car/options it was built with. So the T0320LD is more specific. But the casting will tell you things like 4/2 bolt, and help determine things like journal size, if non standard.

Since it came with a standard transmission, this tells you to check to see if the pilot bearing is still in the crank and to remove it if you want to put an automatic in the car, or if missing, put it back before installing a standard trans.
