Shifting problem

thanks for all the info. I have a new needle brg pilot in the crank, I had red line MT90 in the trans and drained it today and will put in GM gl4, have GM bellhousing #3899621 on the car, not sure about that, calls for 3884626 but don't know if it makes a difference. Shifter works perfect except for the stop light, put in neutral situation. I can live with it but it is just one of those things that drive you nuts. Car had a body off, nut a bolt resto 22 yrs ago and I have put around 20K on it since then. Took it to Pure Stock drag races in Michigan and it ran a best of 13.3 @ 108mph with NO traction until the end of 2nd gear. Shod with F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas,
