Not sure if you know this, but some southern cars would have the vinyl molding on and the top was painted white and no vinyl. Hank has this on his gold 70 and it looks good and gets a lot of positive comments.
I had a 64 GTO that I got from Kentucky and it was a light brown with painted white top back in 72. I have seen Nova's, and Chevelles at car shows with a white painted top.
