Thanks Shadow, the guy i bought it from said there is a stamp under the body and he said there was an R on the stamp that indicated it being an SS. I dont know anything about this or how to confirm but maybe someone here has heard of this?

R does not mean SS on the frame or under the body, not heard that one before. Things to look for are the round guages, 12 bolt rearend, power disc brakes to name a few. If there is a build sheet it would be for an Arlington built car usually under the sound deadner on the drivers side. Some of the other factory assembly plants put them in the springs of the back seat, glued onto the door panel, or like mine on top of the gas tank to just name a few places. Build sheets were never intended to be kept in the car, they were for the assembly worker to put the car together and then throw them away. Stills sounds like you got a great deal and just enjoy the car, Have a great weekend.

Noworries87, be careful with that car man, probably over 400horse and can do donuts on dry pavement, seriously!!

i will try to be lol. my dad has a Z06 and i had a 5.0 mustang when i was 15 so im pretty familiar with fast cars. hope you guys enjoy the photos. i have much more if interested

Still waiting on the sweep/round gauge question ... that would tell alot.

Rank, yes it does have the round guages. i had an older guy come look at it he has 15 classic cars and has been working on chevelles his whole life. he said it was a true ss
