Congrats Eric. Sounds like they need to raise the prices for entrance, gets rid of some of the riff raff. They did that here for a race at a local track, brings out some beautiful cars/serious racers.

Ray, have a great time and safe travels.

Did nothing with my car other than check and make sure it was still in the garage. Put a smile on my face to know it is home.

today after work, I got the driver side inner fender installed and some paint put on the crossmember and frame rails.

tomorrow is fire wall cleaning and some paint for that, after work of course

Today I installed electric fans in place of the Flex-a-lite fixed-mounted flex fan I put on last year. What should have been relatively easy turned into an enormous PITA when things did not clear the water pump nose. Got it all working and temps seem to be holding steady with the A/C on at idle but the ambient temps today were quite low so the verdict is still out.

Regardless of whether this works or not, the flexalite 298 electric fans fit the radiator perfectly and look to be a quality design! I am hoping that this works better than the options I went through last year.... Maybe I just freed up a few more rear wheel horsepower in the process

The kind of issues I ran into....

Decided to seize the day despite the scattered rain showers. Tightened all of the lower control arm bolts, sway bar end links, and upper shocks. I also pulled my starter back out to properly reinstall the heat shield. Got the oil pressure sending unit adapter worked out and installed as well. Lastly, installed the shiny "new" restored horn.

It doesn't sound like much, but it was time consuming. And, I was bouncing back and forth helping my father work on his 67' C10.

I am pretty much at the point now where I need to start cleaning and painting all of the acc. drive - pulleys, brackets, etc.

Took the Chevelle to a car show on the trailer today. Had to wait over 1.5 hrs just to get in because of the nice weather. Alot of cars were over heating waiting in line. The show had over 500 cars in it, bigger turn out then expected. The only thing I didn't like was the wind came up and started blowing everything all over the cars inside and out. Spent about 2 hours once I got home cleaning up the car.

somewhat productive weekend. engine bay pretty much ready to go a few little things to go yet

and installed the SFI rated bellhousing for the th400, gave the transbrake a tuneup, new filter and gasket, and a little paint

Cleaned and primered the PS pump, whatever they painted it with had a sticky consistency. (It's a reman unit from NPD) I also painted my PS brackets, and the backside of the PS pulley. Hoping to paint the pump and front of pulley early tomorrow, then assemble everything tomorrow afternoon. I am going down my punch list now trying to see what will make the most sense to do next. I am leaning towards cleaning & painting the rest of the brackets and pulleys, and the same for the Z bar so I can put it all back together and adjust the linkage. I want to hear this thing run by the end of the month! Not sure if it will happen though.

Finished the pump, brackets, and pulley during the week. Installed my water pump and PS pump today. I also cleaned and painted most of the brackets and pulleys. I need to sand blast the crank pulley this week, it is a little crusty in a few spots. Not going to just paint over it and put it on the car like that. I also need to clean and paint the small bracket for the AC compressor that bolts to the exhaust manifold.

Got the carburetor dialed in on the Monte Carlo, required almost nothing in terms of adjustment. I literally took it out of the box and bolted it on. I raised the idle speed 50 rpm so it wouldn't try to stall with the AC on. It ran well before, but it really runs great now. I would recommend Ken @ Everyday Performance to anyone needing Quadrajet rebuild/recalibration work. He doesn't refinish them as exact as Cliff Ruggles, but his turn around time was about one week vs. several months. And the cost was about half. If you have a 1000 point resto - use Cliff. If you have a nice driver that you aren't concerned with points judging, use Ken.

I washed the car and took it home with me so I could take a shower and clean up. Had plans to swing by a local car show, I was denied by the rain - on my birthday of all days. All is well, I took the car for a ride in the rain after getting cleaned up and dropped it off at my folks house. I kind of don't want to sell it now, it runs and drives so good.
