Slowly but surely acquiring more useful tools!
This was a good buy, I think! Now I can make/crimp my own A/C lines. ![]() Got the car mostly back together yesterday. Pulled a vacuum on the A/C system for a little over 2 hours to remove any moisture and it held vacuum so all seems to be good and ready to be charged! Now if only I had my damn wheels (today marks 4 weeks since I ordered...I'm impatient.) ![]() Not the cleanest install but I guess not horrible either. I plan to replace the inner fenders soon but for now the old, somewhat abused tins went back in. I'll secure the heater hoses once I find the right clamp. ![]() I got the Classic Auto Air all wired and programmed yesterday. Just need to do some under-dash wiring clean up (a.k.a. zip ties) and it will be ready to ride again.

It definitely cleaned the area up a bit. Honestly, I kind of liked the factory box and all the GM engineering. I had kicked around the idea of changing but never wanted to give up my factory A/C. That was until I got the Corvette done.
![]() ![]() I know one thing, that #8 plug is going to be SOOOOO much easier to get to now!

Eric, what did you do with your factory inner and outer boxes?

That looks pretty sharp. Did you have any issues with the install? I'm going to do an aftermarket ac in my car and I'm trying to figure out what the better company/system is.

I haven't actually tested the CAA functionality yet so I can't comment on actual cooling ability but I do know that the air coming from the vents is already stronger than it was before. Disclaimer - I found a broken clip on the factory air direction door so I was not getting full functionality from the factory selector. If the CAA kit works anything like it does in the Vette, I'll be quite pleased.

Last I heard, they were for sale...Eric called and offered them to me but my wagon doesn't have any dash vents. Never did...wagons have wing windows.

Correct, sort of for sale but I don't really want to box the stuff up to ship. One of the other local Chevelle guys is interested in everything I removed so we'll see.
