Default Hunting down the original

Since I'm going through the trouble to clone my original Chevelle, I started thinking I should see what happened to the original car. I sold it in Harrisburg Pennsylvania back in 1993. The car should be pretty easy to spot. It was the only 2 door hard top '64 Chevelle Malibu I've ever seen with a white and red suspension. The frame was red, the control arms were white.

The engine bay was also white and red. The car was white and I changed the interior to black from the standard fawn beige.

Here's the only picture of the car I have left. It was taken with the original interior. Anyone have any idea where the car is now?

Got a VIN number? Maybe if you're still with the same insurance agency, they can tell you the VIN? Just a thought...

No, unfortunately I don't have the vin. Believe it or not, I still have a key to it from 20 years ago, but I don't think I have a vin. I'm with the same insurance company, but there was almost a decade I was with other companies, and I moved around to different states and agents since then.

Might be worth contacting them to see if you can get a VIN #. I tried that when attempting to track down the 72' SS 454 Chevelle my folks bought new. They traded the car in back in 1974. The insurance company didn't have records past 25 years in their archives.

Thanks, I'll have to see if I can track down the vin. Maybe the DMV would have it??

If they do, because of all the privacy laws... I doubt they will give it to you. But I hope for your sake I am wrong.

20 years is a long time in a car's life and a lot of things can have happened to it. Good luck on your search.

Will do. As soon as I get the vin, I think it'll be a ton easier.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Carpoor, I talked to my insurance company. They went through 21 years of records and found my policy from 1991! They found the VIN!!!!!!!!

Allow me to plug State Farm Insurance here for a job well done. They went above and beyond. I still don't have the car, but this should make it easier.
