Congrats on the wedding. The black and white photo is a great touch with the era of the truck. Very nice looking couple.

Frame looks great.

Thanks for the complements!!

For a little while now I've been looking for someone to either rebuild the TH350 that came in the car or maybe use a different one and it's slowed the process down on the car because I want to put the body on the new frame before we finish welding the quarters and rocker panel on so it's not out of alignment and I don't want to put the body on until the motor, trans, and exhaust is all in/on. Well tonight I ran across a 700R4 that was in a guy I know wifes 68 firebird that he had just finish building for her and the car shifted to hard for her liking so he swaped it out for a stock 350. The trans was just rebuilt with a TCI shift kit, new torque converter, lock-up kit and I got to ride in the car so I know it works well. He wanted it out of his way in the garage and said to come get it for $200!!! I told him I'd be there ASAP!!! So hopefully this week I can get started on putting that stuff in.

What goes in the hole behind the modulator?

Thanks! That's what I was thinking it was but I wasn't sure.

I got the motor mounts bolted to my new frame today, which by the way was a pain in the @$$ with the control arms bolted in place. I'm going to try to get the motor and trans put in this week and start getting the exhaust put on. A buddy of mine gave me a set of headers he wasn't using. It has the 3 bolt flange on the collector and I know those are prone to leaking. I'm thinking about changing it to the "ball and socket" type of flange. Has anyone used this type? Are they as leakproof as they claim?

Here's what I'm talking about:

Amen to that, I made the mistake putting my control arms on first on the first frame I built. I used every swivel, extensoin, wrench, socket I could find to get them installed.

The ball and socket are nice. But, I haven't had much issue with the 3 bolt flange - so long as the flanges are bent up and mangled from being over tightened.

Well I ended up ordering the ball and socket flange, should be first of this week. Last night I finally got the front brake lines mounted and the motor and transmission sitting in between the frame rails.

Tried to get the sway bar mounted too and had a heck of time getting the bushing to bolt up. After about 10 minutes fighting it because it wouldn't line up. I got one bolt in each bushing and looked at the ends of it and sure enough the bar is bent. I was wanting front and rear UMI sway bars anyway, so I guess this gives me a reason to buy em

Look how close one side is to the frame than the other.
