Allow me to plug State Farm Insurance here for a job well done. They went above and beyond. I still don't have the car, but this should make it easier.
Good deal, they finally earned their money.

That is so cool that State Farm found your VIN #. Good Luck on your search. Let us know what search engine you end up using. Maybe someone in the future will end up needing some help with a search.

The trick is finding one that does old vin's. Most search sites have to have a 17 digit vin which is cars newer than 1980.

Just google it... might show up if it's ever been listed for sale online.

You might be able to go to DMV and see if it is still register in the state. They won't tell you the owner but at least you might be able to see if it is still around. The chance it is probably is slim.

I tried Ebay. All I found were 8 way over priced '64 Chevelles, none of which, where my old car. I stumbled over a site that does older cars, but it costs money. I may have to wait a couple days to try that. I've been going to all the for sale ads I can posibly think of and posted on a couple Chevelle sites. We'll see.

Even if I find the shell and frame. .....heck, even just the shell, I'll put her back together. I know she had a rough life, but I hope someone cared enough to hang on to her.

When I was looking for my dad's 77' T/A that he bought new, I kept searching for the car by VIN on eBay. I missed it by a year believe it or not, his car was sold on eBay. I posted on a few sites, including a partial VIN - and the current owner found me via a Google search.

I also searched for it on Racing Junk, Hemmings, etc.
