I got the factory roll tach gauges. They don't sell the bezel for it. Your on your own.
So I cut the hole a tad small then filed it to fit the factory bezel from the other dash.

The Not chrome but cheap imitation chrome from the factory was wasted. They do sell the part new but it is supposed to be painted silver. If you send the part out to have it done it is on rubber so it going to be wasted by the time you force it in the hole. So I hillbilled it up and used what I had laying around. A layer of aluminum tape and trimmed it in with a razor. Took me 2 hours to get the hole and the bezel trimmed so it don't look 45 years old. I happy with it.

I was restoring the steering wheel when the bezel arrived. That going to take a while.

Well I worked all day on the venting and steering wheel. My dash pad came. I did a dummy dust. I ordered the wrong one. This one is a cover that fits over the old one. I want the entire bolt down deal with new padding. So I be calling tomorrow to see about a exchange and if that isn't in the cards just order the right part.
They are good there I am sure I be exchanging and paying the difference.
Boy it sure looks good tho. I was sitting in the car like a big kid. Holding the dash emblem dash pad and bezel all in place.
I got plenty to do. It be here before I need it anyway. Probably before I finish this wheel. And am ready to paint the wheel, horn button, vent piece that shows at the bottom and licence plate holder for the front bumper.

Took mine out to blow the dust and cobwebs off it today. Most likely the last time I drive it for a while.

Didn't touch either Chevelle this weekend. Changed the oil and filter in my truck today. Also pulled the heads off of my LQ4 today so I can send them out to Advanced Induction tomorrow.

(Doing an LQ4/4L80E swap in about 4-5 weeks)

Finished up the front end install except for the tie rod ends. Cleaned out the trunk and looked at the motor compartment. With all the cut wires under there I think I'm going to order a new wiring harness and start from scratch.

Better get that top up...thunder and a little rain down here. With more to come later tonight/tomorrow AM.
We were actually up in Blairsville Saturday evening for their local cruise...

Broke down and bought a buffer. Old one was smelling of burnt windings yesterday.

Went and fetched the supposed original engine for my 69' Malibu. More details in the other thread...
