I guess mine had a bench from the factory and someone changed to buckets with out the brackets. Knowing that...the console and horseshoe shifter were added too. |

I've been MIA for a couple months and work on the car has come to a creep, since life happens. I'm friends with a few people on here on facebook but I figured I'd tell the ones that I'm not, my wife and I are expecting our first child and she should be here early February. That has already taken a bunch of time getting things prepared doctor visits and whatnot, plus we have had several big outdoor projects that have been going on too. Last weekend though, I was able to get the rear drums swapped out for late model F body disc brakes, which was way easier than I figured, took just couple of hours to do. Had to order new rear brake hose and run new brake line along the rear axle. Today I went to the DMV and got license put on the car and was able to use an antique plate I bought off ebay the same year as my car. Here's a shot of the before and after of the brakes. More updates are soon to follow.

Thank ya flash! We're pretty excited but know it's going to change everything.
Carpoor, you should be able to use anything from the 98-02 camaro or firebird. I bought mine used as a kit off of a 02 Trans Am on ebay for around $300. It came with everything from the hose bracket, brake hose, caliper, backing plate with the emergency brake band, rotor, and brake pads like look brand new. It's was a really simple upgrade, hardest thing was pulling the axles to get the backing plate and welding the hose bracket to the axle tubes.

Last night I fixed the problem I had with the door gap along the driver side quarter. I ended up having to cut the whole length of the gap, opening up the gap and rewelding back down now the driver door will finally shut.
This evening I got these beauties from UMI and got them put on. Since the upper control arms is adjustable I was able to fix the pinion angle and I'm sure they'll hold it in place better than the stock ones too. ![]() ![]() Fixed pinon angle

Been quite a while since I've updated anything on here but I'm still working on the car, slowly but it's still coming together. Over this past weekend I completely rebuilt the rear end. Went from 2.73 to 3.73 gears, added an eaton posi-trac, all new bearings and seals, sandblasted it and finished it off with a nice sturdy diff cover and longer wheel studs. Last couple of weeks I completely finished up the wiring. Took it to the alignment shop and had it updated with more of cruiser/corner carver specs. Just about everything I've been doing has been little things here and there but it's starting to look more like a finished product. I'm probably going to try and drive it a couple times this fall and then fully finish the bodywork/block sanding over the winter. Anyway here are a few pictures to update the car.
New Gears and posi unit ![]() Still need to put the new bushings in. They're supposed to be here tomorrow. ![]() Here's what the outside of the car is looking like. ![]() ![]()
