Water In Gas

Besides draining the tank which is a pain (been there done that and got 2 or 3 t shirts) ,what is the best way to get it to burn out ? One of our local stations had water to get into the tank during our rainy week and friday I stopped and got about 3 gallons of the nasty stuff in my 74 Chevy truck. Ive added a bottle of stuff called HEAT and another 8 gallons of fresh gas ,its slowly getting better but wondering if there is a better way .
