Water In Gas
Besides draining the tank which is a pain (been there done that and got 2 or 3 t shirts) ,what is the best way to get it to burn out ? One of our local stations had water to get into the tank during our rainy week and friday I stopped and got about 3 gallons of the nasty stuff in my 74 Chevy truck. Ive added a bottle of stuff called HEAT and another 8 gallons of fresh gas ,its slowly getting better but wondering if there is a better way .

Up north there used to be a "Dry Gas" additive used in the winter months that supposedly absorbed moisture.
No sure if it's still available or even offered here in the South. I wonder if a few gallons of E85 would accomplish the same...??

As much as I hate Ethanol, this is probably its one positive feature... Ethanol in your gas will absorb the moisture and dillute/disperse it so it will burn up rather than collecting in the low spots. You just have to make sure the ethanol content is greater than the water content, otherwise it'll separate from the gas and cause even more problems.

Maybe we should just send him some dry gas. We have it here too.

Dry gas is an alcohol-based additive used in automobiles to prevent any water in the fuel from freezing, or to restore combustive power to gasoline spoiled by water.
Just like Derek said Ethanol is your friend in helping get water out of your gas.
