I been real happy with the Holley 770 Avenger. Its been trouble free so far. Would think the 670 would work nice on yours.

I recently inquired A tech over at summit and they wrote back saying " Just FYI, the 1965 327ci 350hp engine originally came with a 585cfm vacuum secondary carburetor, and it was a real killer engine.
Either one of the following would do a great job. For a 650cfm, take a look at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-80783C/ .. Note this carburetor has a traditional finish, electric choke, dual inlets, and adjustable floats For a 600cfm, take a look at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-0-80457S/ . Note this carburetor has a shiny polished finish, electric choke, and has non-adjustable floats. Hope this helps. If I go to big in cfm , wont that cause a problem in running too rich and hard on gas ? |

I believe too big and you don't have enough air velocity through the carb, doesn't atomize the fuel as well. I'm no carb expert but that's what I heard anyway.

I've got a 600 Road Demon that ran awesome on a 292 (283 +.060"). Very crisp throttle response.
You mentioned "lightly modded"...have you considered a Q-jet? Great for fuel economy too...if 'ya keep your foot out of it. ![]() Contact Von Cassidy...he can hook you up to your specific application.

The q-jet is supposed to be the BEST carb for an sbc. Sean Murphy sets them up per application. SMI Performance is the name of his company. That is my recommendation.

I love the Rochester Quadrajet. They flow up to 795 CFM but only if you need it. Its like that old commercial for the Ronco Showtime rotisserie "set it and forget it" I like the old Carters redone by Edelbrock too, I've had good luck with them on work/play trucks. I feel the Holley carbs take more maintenance for some reason. I felt like it would get cold or it would get humid and run differently than if it was warm or dry. Seem a little on the fussy side
