The first pic was at the auction and the second is after I cleaned it up and did a tune up and replaced all the rubber hoses.

Looks good after clean up. Did you paint it? It looks like a different color green in the second picture and has less primer on it.

I degreased the body and took laquer thinner and rubbed off all the primer, then buffed it with Lustro Easy. It took many hours. Hard to believe someone scuffed the whole car with 220 grit sandpaper.

I can't decide on what to do with it. From what I have learned, the Canadian cars sometimes had really different options available for the car. That's what makes it tough. I believe the color is supposed to be dorean green. I don't think that was available on US Chevelles. The interior is some sort of cloth green. I have never seen that on a Chevelle. It has the center console as well. The old guy I bought the car from said the green inside the trunk was a 1974 Corvette green. However, the color is much darker. The paint on it really looks original. The wife has decided to take over the car after she drove it. She wants to change the interior to dark grey/Lt grey and change the color to something else. Ohter than a few mechanical upgrades, I see nothing wrong with the car, updating the material on the seats and repainting the car the same color. The motor is a correct year 396 with a built turbo 400, 12 bolt posi and I think at least 411 gears. I included a different view. It also has a SS hood and markings but the Vin does not match up. So coming from Canada, I wonder. I had to laugh, the original spare is in the trunk with air still in it...

If it is a Canadian built car and you don't have a documentation for it you can get it from GM of Canada. That's one nice thing about them, GM of Canada kept the records. The Canadian cars did not put a build sheet in the car they put is a broad cast strip with the options printed on it. Below is what the strip looks like and a build sheet you can get. I had a 70 Candian built car myself a few years back. I found mine in the back seat.
