Default Dash question.

Hey all. I've got a new wiring harness for my 66 Chevelle and before I put it all back together I'd like to test out the dash lights to make sure I have it wired correctly. When i took my jumper pack and put a lead on the dash groung and postive to the gray wire (goes to all the lamps) I don't get any lights. I'm having a brain cramp or something, Any ideas?
Thanks

jumper pack is not going to give you the power you need the jumper box is very low amps so you are going to need a battery of some kind to really test it. if you need the wiring harness diagram let me know i have all of them now

If you could send it, I would really appreciate it. I didn't think I was that stupid, but now that you said that, I understand now. Thanks a ton.
