Default fuel line question

ok ladies and gents i know the fuel line runs around the rear of the frame and you have to lift the car up to run it that way. i know that much from the searching and asking around. so i started running a fuel line in the chevelle and i am not happy with the way it came out. i am looking at another route now. I am thinking about using some an fittings from the sending unit to the steel line. So my question to you guys is what fitting did you put on the sending unit?
something like this?

to a braided line to this
on the steel line that runs in the frame?
