I've read where adding a spacer between the carb and intake can help reduce heat transfer to the carb? I've noticed hard starting when hot, and some fuel spurts into the carb when it's shut down. Overheating of fuel?

Could be.
The thing with spacers is there is no sure thing...all you can do is try one. Also make sure your fuel line is not routed close or in direct contact with the engine. Heat easily transfers to the tubing.

Use a phenolic spacer. (wood) And, maybe try a heat shield. This ethanol gas seems to boil quicker in the heat. Here in FL, our gas is said to be E10. It is more like E15 - E20. I hate it, not a fan of it at all.

10% ethanol, average, is required by the government. You find gas with less and some with more but the overall average has to be 10%. I hate it too.

Same here. Swapped from an aluminum spacer to a phenolic along with a Holley heat shield and it cured a vapor lock issue I was having.

Excellent feedback. Thanks. Now that it sounds like i have a solution, where do you prefer to purchase items such as this spacer where you get good service/pricing?

Yeah, been busy with other things (work, vacation, etc.)
Have a thread that became a novel on the other site about an overheating issue I was fighting. Finally got that under control and proceeded to break a starter bolt on the car. So I pushed it the garage and haven't touched it. Probably get back on it this weekend.
