I loaded my car onto my transmission guys trailer and said good bye to her. She is on her way Cincinnati to have the trans fixed. Hopefully she will be home in a week.

It will be good as new in a week and you will be out burning the rubber off it.

I haven't even had my cover off my car in over a month. It will be at my son's wedding on Sept 14 for him to drive off in.

How did that Hydroboost go in? Fairly easy? and how much did it set you back? |

Honestly the most difficult part of the entire swap for me was getting the hydraulic line ends to seat correctly. If I did it again I would take the lines back out and drive down the road to a place that makes hydraulic lines and have them do the ends for me which would have saved lots of frustration. Price is pretty high with the Hydratech systems I purchased (around $950 for extra long line set, show finish & new master) but you can do it for much cheaper if you go junk yard shopping. I believe you can source nearly everything you need from a Chevy Astro IIRC and have a complete system for just a couple hundred. I think I still need to install a manual proportioning valve inline to the rears as they will lock up way too early. Just need to dial out a little pressure.

Took advantage of the cool, fall like weather this morning ...
I installed a rebuilt pair of boxed rear LCA's I got from a buddy on TC, added a 7/8" rear sway bar, swapped in a front 1" sway bar (bigger dia than the wimpy stock one), dropped in a JGC steering box and new PS pump w/hoses (the '66 was factory manual steering & brakes). Next up is removing the headers and installing cast iron manifolds w/stock full duals and a disc brake conversion. Hope to see James Hinshaw at one of the Chevelles show I'm attending later this month to order a few interior items...gonna replace the Sedan's headliner, rear package tray, and front/rear seat covers. Then we be lookin' good....
