Default SS Cowl Hood

In switching from Malibu hood to SS Cowl Induction Hood. What's the difference between the short kit and full kit on the flap. Is it necessary for the full kit for an operational flap?

Can you provide some links to the 2 kits you're looking at?

The guy told me in the short kit the flap will stay up when the car is off. That's about all he knew about the difference between the two.

The short kit is only the air cleaner base. If you are going to cowl induction and have nothing for it you need the cowl induction complete kit. Your hood will only come with the hole in it and no hardware for the cowl induction. The flapper stays open when the car is off because it needs the vacuum of the engine to close it when it is running.
