Default 283 Turn Key Engine

We'll be swapping out the 283 with a 383 in early April so the old engine must go. It's complete from carb to oil pan, less headers. Recent alternator, ps pump, HEI dist, new starter. Runs great. Local pickup near O'Hare airport or I'll meet you within ~100 miles. In the car now so you can see it run.
$550.00
Thanks for looking.

If closer I'd buy this!! I love these little mouse motors. And I've got a pair of -416 305 HO heads that would really turn this on.
Do ya know of anyone heading southbound soon??

Congrats on the sale.
Strange though...
I've been waiting to find out when my buddy that lives in Indy would be making the trip to South GA. Pretty sure he'd be willing to transport this for me.
He emailed this morning...making the trip the weekend of April 25th.
Oh well...sometimes things don't quite work out...

Yeah, timing is everything. The guy who bought it is putting it in a '64 stepside and is very happy with the deal. So happy in fact he's driving eight hours each way to pick it up.

I flew to NJ last Thursday and drove a recently purchased Chevelle 13 hrs (838 miles) back to GA.
Wore me out...must be getting old.
