hello,
ive got a 1971 chevelle with a 454 the motor came out of a 1993 suburban it is bone stock it has been converted to carb and a electric distributor. And the car is still all stock except the motor. Can anyone give me some good build ideas for more HP ive thought bought the edlebrock performer for the intake heard it was my best bet for this engine ...but what other options do i have...thanks |

I guess it depends on what you want and how big your budget for parts is.

On the cheap and basic... find yourself a set of 70' or older closed chamber oval port heads, a decent cam, headers, and all the supporting mods. It will run on pump gas, and pick up plenty of power. George Kettbo <spelling?> Had a similar set up in his 70' El Camino and ran in the 12s. It was a very street-friendly set up. JMHO
