Default WTB - shift knob

Looking for a GM p/n - 3992308 knob. These are specific to 71'-72' Chevelles with a 4 speed and console. It is tapered, gets bigger towards the top, black in color, no shift pattern.

Found a picture, sort of...

That is the same on that is on my 72 Camaro SS. And I think it is the same on that was on my 77 TransAm...so it should be pretty easy to find one.

I need one that is smooth on top with no shift pattern. (console car) I found a few vendors that claimed to have one. But, all they had was a black plastic shift ball with no pattern. I am going to make a few calls today and see if I can scrounge up one.

Not a common shift knob to find. I haven't seen one in a long time.

I just missed one on evilbay about 5-6 weeks ago. I have placed several want ads. Just going to keep an eye out and hope to find one eventually. Today I put a feeler out with a friend of mine who works for NPD. He is the head GM research guy for the company.
