Wow, it sounds like a nightmare for you guys in GA. Those of us up here in the north would love a 31 degree day, it would be a heat wave. Most of the local schools were closed again today, except my kids school. So I went out at 7:05am to warm my van up and the temp was -4 with the wind chill it actually felt like -20. High school is only 1 1/2 miles from my house and only after I took the kids and got home, was the van warm.

Now our streets are in pretty good shape. Main roads and expressways are clean and pretty dry. Some of the side streets have snow built up on them.

I think if I was down with John and Bill through this snow storm I would have probably been doing donuts, scaring the crap out of all the people who can't drive in this. Funny thing, I wouldn't allow my kids to get their license until they actually knew how to do a donut and get out of a spin. lol

Not as bad off as everyone else, but barely made it to 50* today. High winds and lots of rain in the afternoon. Not looking much better for tomorrow. Can't wait for Friday, high of 74.

Looks like a warming trend for the east side of the US. By the weekend it may in the 50's from what I have seen on the news. I notice they were putting the blame on the weather people for not perdicting the bad weather in Georgia and some of the other area's.

Ya cant really blame the weather people, they did give fair warning........Mother Nature is gonna do what she wants to do and where she wants to do it at.

They replayed the forecasts given on the 3 days prior. They had plenty of warning

The weather people were right this time ,the state DOT messed up by not being ready even though they were on TV the night before saying they learned their lesson and were prepared for this one ,NOT. The county road dept came through after lunch today with a motor grader and cleaned most of the ice off and my brother in law took me after out 2 trucks .The temps today got up to 37 degrees which helped thaw things out ,I enjoyed playing on the tractor clearing snow off a local subdivision streets. Im ready for spring and hopefully cruising in my new old truck ,I hate cold and snow.

We were promised a high of 57-58 today. It hovered around 49-50 degrees, and rained pretty much non stop. The wind cut like a knife. Calling for 73-74 tomorrow, I hope so. Today was miserable on the job sites. Heck, the past two days have been crappy. I need a good ending to the work week.

My workday starts at 10 AM tomorrow in case there is black ice still on the roads ,Im ready to get back to work. I was on call this week and they called me constantly but all I could do was tell them I was still stranded and could not get there .I missed out on a lot of overtime that I sure could have used .

Soon all this snow and ice will be nothing more than a bad memory...50's today and tomorrow...60's and rain on Sunday!!
I was out running errands yesterday afternoon...no problem.
And actually the Weatherman DID miss the forecast for THIS area...initially was only supposed to get a dusting up to .5 inch possible north of Atlanta.
Not the 3"+ we did get....
South of Atlanta was forecast to get the worst...which is did not.
Gotta remember...around here everything is on a hill. I can stand in my backyard and look over the roof of the house behind me.
