Flint Water System

The Flint water problem is going to take years to fix. From what I understand the pipes are now coated with lead and even using the water from the Detroit Water system, that there is still a problem with lead in the water.

The residents were given water filters for their homes. Not enough and didn't work.

Now one of the issues that is coming up is that all these people have sent bottled water to the city and the residents are using it. But what is happening to all the plastic bottles that are being thrown away. They are trying to get the recycling trucks out a few times a week but not everyone is aware of how to recycle. There is also a large hispanic community and many think that they are still using the water out of the fountain and boiling it. The only problem with boiling it is that the lead becomes more potent. It is a huge mess that is going to take years to clean up.
