Default my 69 chevelle

can anyone tell me how to tell if a 1969 chevelle is a ss or not.

Without documentation, such as build sheet, POP, etc. it's almost impossible to prove. You can look for the obvious signs. All 69 SS came with a 396, 12 bolt rear, not necessarily a posi. Front power disk brakes, either a Turbo 400 trans or a Muncie trans.

Post some pics, especially engine compartment.
