Did you by chance try loosening up the bellhousing a bit and moving it in the direction it has to go and re-tightening it? I know with my lakewood scattershield their was enough play in the dowel holes to move it a few thousandths in one direction or another. We dialed mine in to .001 out pretty easily.

I was thinking the same thing on my way to work this morning, that all I have to do is push the bellhousing up, as the biggest varation is at the bottom of the hole -.015" ...thanks for the validation on what I was thinking doing as well.
