Paint color by VIN #

I am curious what color my Chevelle came from the factory. Is it possible to determine the factory color by the vin#?

Not by VIN, but the trim-tag has the paint code on it.

I believe my tag is long gone. Were they located on the cowl?

Yes, on the cowl. Some call it trim tag, some call it cowl tag. I believe the correct name is trim tag.
