I'll ask this question over here too, I have it on two other sites and no replies yet.
I was driving home Friday night from the last cruise night of the year, running about 60mph and the spedomter started jumping around (+ or - 15 to 20MPH). I was thinking the cable was going bad but, after I got to looking for the cable I noticed it went into the factory cruise control and from there it went into dash. So my question is: Could it be one of the two cables or the cruise control box? Or something else? I'm also running a 4:10 gear and had the transmission gear set so the spedometer would read right.

Get another cable to temporarily bypass the cruise control unit to isolate the problem.

I would say one of the two cables. Should be able to slide the cable out of the sleeve and see if it's damaged.

Looks like you got some good answers on both sites now. Good luck.
