So what are your plans for your car or truck in 2013?
1 ) For me after the first of the year is to tear out the dash and have my gauges rechecked and hope to get all of them working correctly. Still having some electrical issues I need to resolve. Radio needs to be hooked up also. 2) Still need to have the original carb rebuilt and installed.

1) I think my #1 priority this year will be to put a set of headers on. I've been wanting to do this for about a year now but whenever I shop for them on line I get a bit confused about what one will actually fit my car. Kind of sucks when you own one of these cars and don't know how to work on it.
2) would also like to buy a new break booster ( most of the gold plating has been wiped off mine.

Finish it mechanically and drive it. Then pull the nose off and refit all the body panels. And lastly, repaint it. I am getting so frustrated with this car, I have owned it for 5+ years and never once driven it. Plus I keep finding things that need to be redone. It's disheartening every time I find something that has fallen victim to time and the elements.

2013 projects:
I bought a 72 greenbrier wagon for the frame to replace the rusted out frame on the 72 el camino that I gave my grandson to restore; but the longer I looked at the wagon the more it grew on me. Long story short, we found a rust free frame from a 70’ el that we bought. The wagon was pretty tired, needed motor and transmission, had been side swiped on driver side and the front fenders were buckled from a front end collision that took out the grille. I started with a 305 out of 86 camaro looking for better mileage, and then I put a 350 trans. that my grandson rebuilt for me behind the 305 and installed it in the wagon. It runs, but I haven’t got all the bugs out yet. I hope to get all the mechanicals fixed so it’s road worthy this next spring, then tackle the body repairs and interior upgrade. I also have a 69 el camino that I have most of the parts needed to restore it. I hope I can get a good start on it this next year too. |

My plan is to finish it.
I have the rest of the body work (which is mostly done) wire it exhaust carpets headliner rear suspension brakes all the way around then reassemble. Sounds easy, right?

Put on all my GM hoses under the hood, take off bumpers to have re chromed, and then put the original am radio in. After that it's all finished.

My 2013 plans:
Get it out of storage as soon as the weather breaks. Put new front springs on it: should not have let grumpy talk me into cutting them that short Find the one piece of molding around the front window Take it to the drag strip and put down some solid runs Drive it as much as possible
