Default Trunk Emblem

These are the holes in the trunk on my 68. Not sure what deck lid this came from. Can anyone tell by the pic which emblem these holes are for?

That should be where the chevelle script goes.If I am not mistaken 68's had the script on the right side of the taillight panel.that trunk lid could be off another year. When I bought my 68 it had 2 emblems in the back, one on the trunk lid and the one on the panel.

I thought that the holes were all in a straight line on the 68.

I found this in the book

Chevelle SS Restoration Guide, 1964-1972
By Paul A. Herd
page 123

"However, in 1969 an emblem that read Chevelle by Chevrolet, part number 8701218, was positioned on the right-hand side of the deck lid. A 1969 deck lid with therefore not interchange with a 1968 deck lid because of the predrilled holes for the emblem, but a 1968 deck lid can be fitted to a 1969 Chevelle."

Maybe researching the emblem number for 1969 can end in you ultimately finding the part for the 1968 and finding out about the drilled holes and where your deck lid came from.

Um, don't know what that lid is from. The mounting holes don't like the ones on a 70 or a 71-72. Don't think it's a 69 either. It could be from a Monte Carlo or even a Skylark or other A body.

Not a 70, it looks like this

68 did not have an emblem on the trunk

Looks like a 69 like this deck lid, which happens to be on a 68
